Essentiality and lightness on 4000m peaks in the Alps and beyond, with CAMP

Our products meet precise criteria, those of enhancing the experience of anyone using them. This is the reason why we never stop innovating, looking for ideal solutions for any activity. Would you like an example? You will find it in our search for lightness within ice axes and crampons for classic alpinism, which now guarantee similar – or even better – performances than those achieved with older, much heavier tools. Many normal routes on four thousand-metre peaks in the Alps can be undertaken with a Corsa Nanotech ice-axe, weighing a feathery 225 g, with the compactness of the Ascent crampon, the essentiality and ergonomics of the K Warm glove. Gabriel Perenzoni and Nicola Castagna are showing that at the moment, with their “AltaVia 4000” project of going up all 82 four thousand-metre peaks. This winning trio is our advice for full-on, light & fast adventures at high altitude.

The Corsa Nanotech merges the hyperlight properties of aluminum construction with a Sandvik Nanoflex® steel reinforced tip and spike for a solid grip on hard snow and ice. The steel components dramatically increase the performance of these critical points without significantly increasing the weight of the axe. The single-curve shaft provides extra clearance without interfering with walking or plunging performance. A lightweight nylon spike plug keeps snow out of the shaft. The grip is machined for good handling and a small slot in the head allows for seamless integration with the Corsa leash (sold separately). Not suitable for use on vertical ice, mixed terrain or for intense step chipping. Available in 3 lengths (50, 60, 70 cm). Weight 225 g (50 cm)
